Sharon was in our Joy Seekers Singing group not only singing but accompanied us with her guitar. She was rather quiet at that time but added so much sparkle to our group with her wonderful smile and wise personality. She, also, was very talented in sewing cute gifts to give to her friends. One year she made each of us a Santa Claus for Christmas. My Santa Claus has come out every Christmas for over 40 years. We all have beautiful memories of those years when we sang together, laughed together, and healed together through our search for joy for ourselves and then sharing it with our audiences.

Sharon and I were sorority sisters in the SIgma Sigma Sigma Sorority at Lock Haven State College for three years. I taught at South Williamsport Senior High School following her teaching there because she loved that area as much as I did. When my parents took ill in 1966 I returned home, took care of them and married Jerry. Sharon and I visited at my home in Pittsburgh, Pa. often following graduation and in Williamsport in 2015. Sharon was one of my favorite people in the whole world. I loved her like my own sister. Jerry, my husband, and I send our heartfelt sympathy to her husband and her children and grand children. I was hoping to see her this spring when I make my annual drive to Lock Haven, Hughesville and to Williamsport. Sharon and I built many floats for the Homecoming Parade in Lock Haven, we went of raft trips down the Pine Creek and I will miss her so very much. She taught me that to receive much we must give much and I never forgot it. May God keep Sharon and her family in His love and care always. Most sincerely with much love, Patricia Smith Ford
