I first really got to know Jim when we were both in the percussion section of the band, I believe I was in 7th and 8th grade and Jim was 2 or 3 years older. He was such a nice friend and also helpful as I did not really have a clue what I was doing and he was always so helpful. I so remember the time the band was invited to the Gimbels Thanksgiving .parade in Philly and it was so long and cold..I remember him helping me out when the band on my cymbal broke and began rolling down the street. Fast forward 10-12 years and I meet up again at a Penn State admissions conference and then we connected on facebook. We had very similar ideologies on life in terms of respect, tolerance and treating others regardless of who they are equally. Jim lived his life in the same way and was well liked and respected by so many..His love for his son and Noreen always beamed with pride on his facebook posts and even in illness, had strength and fortitude where many would not and he openly talked about his battle..I will miss you Jim and will not forget the fun in the band, Penn State and the many discussions on facebook.. Your are a wonderful human being and your life on this earth touched many in a positive way.

Hard to believe 22 years have passed since I had the pleasure of being part of the "Q-Crew" with Jim at WILQ from 1988-1993.

He was a fine newsman, and an excellent colleague, he'll be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers to the family in this time of sorrow. Mike and Michelle McKay, Charlotte NC.

Dear Noreen and family,

I want to express my sympathy on the passing of Jim. I worked with him at WILQ and when he left to go to work at Penn College he gave me a section of his hanging plant. It is still growing and regrowing in my front window so I always think of him. May God bless you and your family.

Noreen and Will, I am so sorry to hear about Jim. My mom was quite fond of him and his visits on behalf of Penn College. It must have been their love of education and for Cross Fork that made them click. You are in our prayers! A great man received his Angel Wings! God bless your family!

Jim, you were a kind soul. You have earned your wings. Soar with the eagles and be free. Your earthly body no longer suffers in pain. God has gained a great spirit. His work for you here was done, although for those of us who knew you, was too soon. And yet, in those short 52 years, you touched so many. We will miss you. See you on the other side, friend. Noreen and Will, we continue to keep you close in prayer. God's love and peace to you both.
