Eric L. McElrath

Eric L. McElrath, 26, of Montgomery, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 8, 2017.

Born July 1, 1990 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Terri L. (Buck) McElrath and Robert "Bob" McElrath, of Montgomery.

Eric was a 2009 graduate of Montgomery High School and was currently attending Penn College, Williamsport.

Following high school, Eric served honorably in the United States Army with the Military Police and also completed a tour in Afghanistan.

He was raised in the Lutheran faith.  Eric was a member of the Bower-Decker Post 251 American Legion, Montgomery and the Moose Lodge 145, South Williamsport.

Most important to Eric was his family and he loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Surviving in addition to his father are two brothers and one sister-in-law, Ken Shafer, of Williamsport and Todd and Samantha McElrath, of Muncy; his paternal and maternal grandmothers, Margaret McElrath and Doretta Middlesworth, both of Montgomery; and nieces and nephews, Kaleb Shafer, Kendall Hoffman and Topangah and Deagan McElrath.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Dr. Ronald E. Shellhamer, officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
