Stanley E. Root

Stanley E. Root, 62, of Muncy, died Saturday, January 25, 2020 at his home.

Born December 8, 1957 in Montour, NY, he was a son of the late Elden and Shirley (Hartford) Root. On Sept. 27, 1980, he married the former Clara Leonardo, who survives. Together they celebrated 39 years of marriage.

Stanley was a graduate of Odessa-Montour High School, NY. He worked as a press person at Data Papers for 25 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Corrie Root, of Newfield, NY; a step daughter, Crystal Leonardo, of Newfield, NY; two brothers, Albert (Charlie) Root and Roger Root; a sister, Susan (James) Antes; a sister-in-law, Mary Root; five grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Bernard and Kevin Root.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. The Celebration of Stanley’s life will continue at the Edward J. Smith Post 3428 V.F.W., 12 N. Market St., Muncy. Friends may begin arriving at 2:30 p.m.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Lycoming Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
