Markley W. Rooker

Markley W. Rooker, 66, of Muncy, died on Friday, April 5, 2024 at his home.

Born June 25, 1957 in Muncy, he was a son of the late Willard Rooker and Helen Flick.  On July 25, 1978 he married the former Gwen Mays, who survives.  Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage.

Markley was a 1974 graduate of Hughesville High School.  He worked many years as a machine operator at Data Papers, and later retired from the former Pop’s Place, Muncy, which him and his son owned and operated for 12 years.

Markley was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving are two children, Jillian (Andrew) Becker, of Hughesville, and Markley W. “Skip” Rooker II, of Muncy; five siblings, Larry Rooker, of Linden, and Grant (Jane) Rooker, Willard Rooker, Donald Rooker and Brenda Lee Rooker, all of Hughesville; and two grandchildren, Justice Rooker and Xavier Becker.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three siblings, Gary and Gene Rooker, and Deb Swisher.

In keeping with Markley’s wishes, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
