Diana Weikel Obituary

Diana L. (Auten) Weikel, 70, of Lewisburg, died Friday, March 26, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born September 8, 1950 in Lewisburg, she was the daughter of the late William Sterling and Marian J. (Maize) Auten.

Diana was a 1968 graduate of Lewisburg High School. She worked at Time Markets, Lewisburg for 13 years. Diana later worked as the Deputy Treasurer of Union County for six years and retired as the Treasurer of Union County after 18 years.

She was a life member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Winfield.

Diana was on the Union County Board of Children’s Assistance and was the treasurer of the Union County Republican Women. She was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Buffalo Valley, the Pennsylvania State Tax Collector’s Association, and the Pennsylvania County Treasurers Association.

Her greatest joy was spending time with family and having gatherings for picnics and special occasions at her home, and "spoiling" her youngest cousin, 3-year-old Owen.  She was a very loving, generous, caring, and beautiful soul who will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her cousins, Richard Poust and his wife, Anita, and their daughter and grandson, Amy and Owen, all of Williamsport; Barbara (Poust) Fausey and her husband, Arnold, of Sunbury; Betty Kratzer of New Berlin; and Carolyn Klingler and her husband, Dick, of Winfield; a niece, Lona (Rhoads) Henry and her husband, Timothy, of McAlisterville; grandniece, Jolene Goss of Thompsontown; grandnephew, Luke Goss and his wife, Tiara, and their daughter, Kyley, all of Mifflintown; sister-in-law, Barbara Landis of Kreamer, and best friends, Paula Snyder of Lewisburg, Sylvia Leonard of Selinsgrove, Nancy and Glenn Troester of Mifflinburg, Eileen Thomas of Lewisburg, and her 50’s singles group.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Nichole Weikel; brother, Gary Auten; cousin, Richard (Dick) Kratzer and grandnephew, Jeremiah Goss.

Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 10 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Winfield where a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Zachary Woods, officiating.
