Virginia D. Couch

Virginia D. “Ginger” Couch, 89, of Muncy, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family Thursday, December 18, 2025 at the Gatehouse.

Born March 2, 1936 in Mill Hall, she was a daughter of the late Donovan K. and Sarah R. (Miller) Wolfe.

Ginger was a 1951 graduate of Mill Hall High School, where she played the snare drum and soft ball. Earlier in life, Ginger earned the title of Fall Foliage Queen in Renovo and enjoyed taking tap dancing lessons. It was during an outing to watch gymnast that she met her future husband. On August 13, 1960 she married Ronald J. Couch. Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage before his death January 21, 2006.

Ginger was a graduate of the former Williamsport Business School, now Penn College. She worked as a secretary at Piper Aircraft for four years before getting married and starting a family. Caring for her family was her priority until the boys were raised. Ginger then went back to work at the Lycoming Mall working at the former Lock Haven Savings as the branch manager and retiring from Gem Stone Jewelry.

She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Muncy. Ginger was also a member of the Widow’s Mite and the Domino’s club. She and her husband would often host card games with several other local families. She was fond of cats and enjoyed playing Bingo.

Surviving are three sons, Mark Couch, of Muncy Valley, and his children, Megan (Ryan) Levan and Matthew (Brooke) Couch; Brad (Kathryn) Couch, of York, and his children Jared (Lindsy) Couch and Breanna (Carlos) Rivera; and Steven (Missy) Couch, of Allentown and stepson, Nicholas Zaino; and four great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Hunter and Maisy Levan and Jason Couch.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Powlus.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. with Father Sean Carpenter, officiating.

Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Ginger’s name be made to the church.
