Died July 30th, 2023
Tharifah was born in Singapore, the youngest of 7 children. As a young child, she was always rebellious and outgoing. During her high school years, she excelled in field hockey & track and field.
At 21 Tharifah began her career as a flight attendant, taking her all over the world.
Not long after, she began working in health and fitness, encouraging others to achieve their goals. After 6 months of physical training, she won the title of National bodybuilding Champion in Singapore and got to compete in the World Women Amateur Body Building Federation against 39 other countries.
At 26, she gave birth to her son Kyle in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. As a mother, Tharifah’s love was unconditional and everlasting. Her strong character and moral values paved the way for motherhood, often putting her Son's wellbeing before her own. Often known as "the cool mom", she was always able relate to those younger than her, enriching their lives through her own experience. After 14 years in Edmonton, her journey took her to British Colombia
At 40, she moved to Vancouver and began a new career as a Stylist, often catering to celebrities. But it wasn't enough. She knew something was missing, that she had more to give to the world. Which is why at age 50 she moved to Hawaii to start a new path as a health & lifestyle influencer.
Tharifah lived in Honolulu on the island of Oahu. It was the perfect setting for this chapter of her life because the bright sun and calm blue ocean matched the infectious energy she brought to the world. She became a published author, writing her story for: “20 Lives Ignited- How 20 Women Over 60 are Creating Success on Their Own Terms”. This book went on to become an Amazon Best Seller. Tharifah desired to use her story and voice to help others reclaim their goals with regards to health, wellness, fitness, relationships, career paths, and becoming a better version of themselves.
In 2022 she moved to Mifflinburg, PA to continue her journey. She enjoyed traveling to visit with her friends, exploring new cities, and attending fundraising events.
It was not difficult for someone to gravitate to Tharifah, as she was always the life of the party. Her never ending positive attitude and generosity made everyone fall in love with her. There was never an outing that didn’t turn into her dancing or sharing about some amazing adventure she had in her past. One thing everyone will remember is that Tharifah was an incredible cook. Cooking a meal was one way she showed her love for people.
She touched the lives of so many people through her positivity, sense of humor, and strength of character. Her resolve to continue to help others never faltered, and even in death, her impact remains and will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her son, Kyle Micyk.
