Shirley L. Fry, 87, of Muncy, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born February 11, 1938, in Jersey Shore, PA, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Rachel (Dauberman) Ohnmeiss. On May 8, 1965, she married Harold “Sonny” Fry, who survives. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Shirley was a graduate of Hughesville High School and earned her LPN while working at Muncy Valley Hospital and Divine Providence Hospital, now UPMC, Williamsport. Following the birth of her children, she became a full-time caretaker for her family and home. She also assisted her husband in his business operations.
Shirley enjoyed writing poetry and always said the words that came to her from the Lord. She also was a talented baker; baking wedding cakes in earlier years; including wedding cakes for both her children. Shirley enjoyed baking cookies and other special treats that she shared with family and friends throughout the year. Especially during the holiday season, you would not leave Shirley’s kitchen without a home baked treat or a dish of holiday cookies. Most importantly, she loved her family and home, always welcoming others in and offering them a meal.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a brother, William (Betty) Ohnmeiss; two children, Michael (Sandra) Fry of Odessa, TX, and Ann (Jeffrey) Sweeney of Pennsdale, PA; four grandchildren, Casey (River) Fry, Dustin (Elizabeth) Fry, Emily Sweeney, and Joshua Sweeney; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Tripp.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Mary E. Sones and Sally Lynn.
There will be a visitation for family and friends from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Grenoble Funeral Home, 121 S. Main St. Muncy, PA. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor David Harman, officiating.
Burial will follow at Moreland Baptist Cemetery, Muncy, PA.
