Samuel R. Fry, 92, a longtime resident of Pennsdale, died Monday, December 22, 2025 at his home.
Born September 14, 1933 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Clifton and Ruth (Rigney) Fry. On February 25, 1961 he married the former Patricia Chambers, who survives.
Sam attended the Pennsdale one room school house and later graduated from Muncy High School. He earned a degree in Agronomy from Penn State University. He owned and operated his own Dairy Farm in Pennsdale for many years. Following his time farming, he opened Sammy’s Pizza and Restaurant, which is still family owned today.
Sam enjoyed playing golf, darts, cards, and watching Penn State Football.
Surviving are two sons, Samuel Fry II and Michael Fry; two brothers, Richard Fry and Lawrence Fry; one sister, Nancy Doutt; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 6 step Grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a young daughter, Christine; a brother, Clifton Fry Jr.; and a sister, Judith Calistri.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 27 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service to follow.
Private burial will be held in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
