Ruth Elaine Smith Robinson entered into her eternal home with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Ruth was born December 13, 1930, in Davidsville PA, the fifth of six children to William James Smith and Florence Naugle Smith.
Survived by: children Gina Locke SC, JB Robinson WA, Jackie Amthauer (Paul) SC, Jon Robinson (Marcia) PA; grandchildren Rhiannon Robinson (David Jeffery) NH, Erin Locke (Kelly) WA, Austin Robinson and Kiera Robinson PA; two great-grandsons Jack and Brandt Jeffery NH, and many loving nieces, nephews and their families.
Predeceased by: husband Jack Harold Robinson; parents Bill and Florence Smith; siblings William J. Smith Jr, Donald A. Smith, Dorothy Green Hocking, Margaret Jones, Larry W. Smith, and her first grandson Dylan J. Robinson.
Ruth graduated Conemaugh Township High School in 1948. She then earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Education from Susquehanna University in 1952, Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
Ruth married Jack on June 27, 1954, in Davidsville PA. Ruth and Jack celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary in 2023.
Ruth taught Business Education at Red Land High School, advanced to Department Head until she retired. Ruth was passionate about teaching and all students.
Ruth was a strong Christian! She loved Bible studies, memorizing scripture, spending time in The Word, a true Prayer Warrior and dedicated to daily devotions.
Ruth loved her family and time spent with them. She loved her church, fellowship with friends, travel, playing bridge, and anything sweet . . . especially chocolate.
Ruth as daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, teacher, sister in Christ and friend was greatly loved. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Ruth will be buried with Jack in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
The family will have a memorial service on Saturday February 10, 2024, at Saint Paul’s at the Farm, 50 Brookpark Circle, Lewisburg PA 17837. Guests will be received at 10:30am, the service begins at 11am.
