In Loving Memory of Roseanna May “Rosey” Dantonio
March 16, 1936 – June 26, 2025
Roseanna May Dantonio, affectionately known as Rosey, of Allenwood, peacefully passed away on June 26, 2025, at age 89, surrounded by her devoted family.
To everyone who knew her, Rosey was a shining beacon of love, light, and hope. Her personality brightened any room, and her spirit uplifted others simply by being present. She was a joy to be around, always quick with a smile, full of warmth, and radiantly positive. Rosey had a rare gift for making people feel seen, heard, and genuinely valued. She wasn’t just kind, she was curious, truly interested in others, and remembered the small details that made you feel special.
Rosey was born on March 16, 1936, in Montgomery, PA, daughter of the late Cyrus and Mary (Miller) Staggert. She graduated in 1955 from Williamsport High School, and on March 10, 1956, she married Earl Dantonio, the love of her life. They shared 59 beautiful years before his passing in 2015. Their home was filled with laughter, faith, and the steady, unconditional love that made everyone feel welcome.
Rosey’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into raising her four children, Gary (wife Jane), Tod, Sherry (husband Derek), and Scott (girlfriend Jessica); who remained the center of her world. Her grandchildren, Alicia, Bethany, Scotty, and Shauna (husband Colby); were also very dear to her and held a central place in her life, just like her own children. Rosey didn’t just watch them grow, she stayed actively involved in their lives with unwavering love, support, and joy. She was also a great-grandmother to six.
Rosey found beauty in life’s small, meaningful details. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, watching Hallmark movies, and sending handmade greeting cards to a wide circle of children for every holiday, each carefully crafted and tucked with a crisp two-dollar bill. It was her way of spreading love, one envelope at a time. She also maintained close and meaningful relationships with extended family and friends, staying in touch regularly with warmth, curiosity, and genuine care. Her connections spanned generations, and her friendship was a cherished gift.
A longtime member of Clinton Baptist Church in Montgomery, Rosey lived her faith with quiet strength and openhearted generosity. She was truly loved by all who knew her. Her presence was comforting, her spirit uplifting, and her legacy marked by kindness, joy, and deep connection will continue to live on in everyone she touched.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rosey was predeceased by her sisters, Eva Stryker, Margaret Ryan, Bertha Reynolds, and Florence Campbell; her brother, Clinton Staggert; and her granddaughter, Haley Nicole Dantonio.
Her light continues to shine in every life she brightened. In her memory, may we smile more often, love more freely, and take time to truly see one another.
In honor of Rosey’s legacy of love and connection, the family is planning a future Celebration of Life, with details to be shared at a later time.
