Richard A. Winter, 91, of Watsontown, died Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Wellspan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born November 27, 1933 in Lewisburg, he was a son of the late Theron Sr. and Evelyn (Coup) Winter. On August 27, 1955 he married the former Doris Mathias, who preceded him in death on December 12, 2019.
Richard attended Milton Schools and served honorably in the United States Marines during the Korean War. He later worked for 43 years at the former Milton Steel, where he retired in 1991 as plant manager.
Richard was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Milton.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially on his trips to Canada. Richard was also fond of his German shorthaired pointer and Beagle dogs.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Grace and William Cawley; and one son, Stephen Winter; one grandson, Clinton Cawley; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by one son, Theron Winter III; two grandsons, Michael and Stephen Winter; one sister, Joyce Jarrett; one brother, Theron Winter Jr; and one daughter-in-law, Jill Winter.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2 at Grenoble Funeral Home and Crematory, 308 Main St. Watsontown, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bill Gibson, officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest contributions be made to Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 102 Lower Market Street Milton, PA 17847.
