Philip K. Wittman, 69, of Muncy, died Monday, March 23, 2026, at his home.

Born May 11, 1956, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Harry and Kathryn (Egli) Wittman.

Philip was a graduate of Montoursville High School, earned his bachelor’s degree from Lycoming College in Chemistry, and later his PhD from the University of Florida in Analytical Chemistry and Environmental Engineering Sciences.

Philip worked 11 years for AT&T Bell laboratories. He then was owner of Canopy Quest where he built canopies in rainforests all over the world.

He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Montoursville.

Philip was also a freelance environmental consultant and biologist, and at one time co-owned Organized Jungle, Inc. which did interior plant sales and rentals.

He was an accomplished Chemist and extremely well-known in his field completing dozens of publications and providing seminars all throughout his career.

Surviving are his brother, Kenneth Wittman, of Williamsport; a sister, Darlene Matzko, of SC; and a lifelong friend, Pamela (Green) Carpenter, of Montgomery.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Harry Wittman Jr.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services.
