Peter Hanson Hunter, 67, of Muncy Valley, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 25, 2025, at his home.
Born December 22, 1957, in Bryn Mawr, he was a son of the late John and Elise Carolyn (Hanson) Hunter.
Peter was a graduate of The Haverford School. He attended Ohio Wesleyan University and later earned his BA from Temple University. Peter worked as a Product Manager for the John Wood Company.
After retiring, he settled at Beaver Lake, where he found joy in its peace and quiet.
He was an active member of the Beaver Lake Wilderness Club, dedicating his time and energy to restoring the lake to its natural beauty. He served as both Vice President and board member and played a key role in organizing the club’s annual fishing derby for many years. Drawing on his professional experience, Peter also contributed significantly to the restoration of the dam, leaving a lasting legacy in the community he loved.
Peter had a deep appreciation for the natural world, with lifelong interests in geology, photography, sketching, and fishing. He was also a passionate music lover, especially fond of Jimmy Buffett and the Grateful Dead.
Surviving are three children, James David Hunter (Alexa Golden), Peter Hunter (Becca), and Elise Combes Hunter Eggert-Crowe (Colin); his former spouse, Dorothy Combes Hunter; two brothers, Howard Hunter (Ginger) and John Hunter; four grandchildren, Zavia, Charlotte, Noah and Camille.
In addition to his parents, Peter was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Diane Hunter.
Services will be held privately in accordance with the family's wishes.
