Pearl E. Rathmell

Pearl E. Rathmell, 99, of Muncy, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Muncy Place.

Born November 10, 1926 in Renovo, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Lena (Schlock) McManigal. She and her husband, Clarence Rathmell, Jr., were married 57 years before his death Oct. 1, 2002.

Pearl was a 1944 graduate of Muncy High School. She worked as a payroll clerk at the former Sprout-Waldron, now Andritz.

She was the oldest member of the First United Methodist Church, Muncy, where she participated in the Widows Mite and helped with the church meals. She also enjoyed playing the Dominoes and Bridge with her friends. Pearl was also a member of the Muncy Business Professional Women’s Club, a lifetime member of the Monsey Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star 481, and a member of the Watsontown Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star 282.

Surviving are a son, Roger Rathmell, of Chesterfield, MO; a granddaughter, Carrie (Rathmell) Meeker and her husband, Eric; and numerous extended family members.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Betsy Rathmell; and five siblings, Lawrence McManigal, Louise Meserole, Erma McManigal, Betty Kisner and Robert McManigal.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Robinson, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Muncy Cemetery.

Animals had a special place in Pearl’s heart. She especially held dear the love of her pet pug. The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Rd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
