Paul W. Wiles, 81, of Watsontown, died Sunday November 29, 2020 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born November 11, 1939 in Berlin Twp, OH, a son of the late Walter and Mary (Miller) Wiles. On June 20, 1959 he married the former Nancy Shemory, who survives. Together they celebrated 61 years of marriage.
Paul was raised as both Amish and Mennonite, attending school until Eighth grade. He served honorably in the Army National Guard's and later earned his GED at the age of 47, an accomplishment he was very proud of.
Paul worked early in life for Strawser's Disposal and Tri County Equipment. He retired in 2000 from Suburban Propane with over 40 years of service.
He was a member of Sound of the Gospel Church , Selinsgrove, where he helped construct the original part of the church.
Paul played softball in his early years and more recently, enjoyed camping and traveling the country.
In Addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Larry Wiles and his wife, Helen, of Delaware, and Tammy Sinibaldi, of Berwick; five siblings, Esther Morrison, of OH, Rachel Fisher, of Shamokin Dam, Mary Wiles, of Lewisburg, Martha Schlabach, of OH, and Simon Wiles, of OH; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Barry Wiles; one brother, Dan Wiles; and one sister, Carrie Snyder.
Friends will be received for a walk through visitation from 11 a.m. to Noon on Friday, December 4 at Sound of the Gospel Church, 50 Gospel Way, Selinsgrove, where a Funeral service will be held at Noon with his pastor, Kenny Cousar, officiating. For everyone’s safety we ask that all attendees adhere to the social distancing guidelines and wear a mask.
Burial with full military honors will follow in Watsontown Cemetery.
The family suggests that donations in Paul's memory be made to either Sound of the Gospel Church, 50 Gospel Way Selinsgrove, PA 17870 or St. Jude Children's hospital, online at www.myremembrance.com , which will provide the family with a personalized keepsake that lists every donor's name who so graciously donated in his memory.
