Norman L. Keene, 92, of Muncy, died peacefully surrounded by family Thursday, May 14, 2026 at the Williamsport Home.
Born January 8, 1934 in Goshen, New York, he was a son of the late Arthur C. and Nora J. (Edwards) Keene. On August 26, 1954 he married the former Catherine M. Shook. Together they celebrated 68 years of marriage before her death March 20, 2023.
Norman attended Williamsport Schools. He served honorably with the U.S. Army. Norman previously worked in shipping at the former Wundies for 10 years before going to the former Sprout-Waldron, now Andritz, where he worked as a machinist for over 33 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
Norman was a member of St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church, Montgomery. He was also a member of AARP, LAPS and the VA.
Norman enjoyed woodworking, reading and hunting.
Surviving are a brother, John F. Keene Sr.; a sister, Janet K. Jones; several nieces and nephews; and many great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a son, Norman Keene Jr.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur Jr. and Dixie Keene and Jack and Mary Keene; sister-in-law, Violet Keene; brother-in-law, Robert E. Jones; and two great nieces.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 10 am Wednesday, May 20, at the Muncy Cemetery, 204 E. Penn St., Muncy, with James Girven officiating.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Norman’s name be made to either LAPS, 630 Wildwood Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701 or online at www.lapsshelter.org or to Meow House, online at www.meowhousecatrescue.com or to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Rd., Williamsport, PA 17701 or to the Muncy Area Volunteer Fire Company, 932 E. Penn St., Muncy, PA 17756.
The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
