Nola Clare Limber Baysore, 93, of Muncy, originally from Alexandria, VA, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family and caregivers.
Born March 12, 1931 in Alexandria, VA, she was a daughter of the late Donald P. and Phyllis (Dawson) Limber. Nola moved to Muncy with her husband, the late H. Gene Baysore, in 1968. They were married 66 years before his death Jan. 10, 2020.
Nola received her bachelor’s degree from Douglas College, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received her master’s degree from Bloomsburg University. Nola was a faithful wife, beloved mother and grandmother, and respected Spanish teacher. At Muncy High School, “Hola, Nola,” was a common phrase heard in the school halls, until her retirement in 1987.
She was a long-standing member of the Muncy Presbyterian Church. She volunteered as a hospice worker for 25 years. Nola enjoyed sewing and quilting and was a member of the Susquehanna Valley Quilting Guild. Nola was an avid reader and life-long bridge player. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She is remembered as being kind, intelligent and witty. She was a faithful friend and a true Christian woman who tried to always do the right thing. She never took herself too seriously and found joy in every day.
Surviving are two sons, Slade Baysore and his wife, Ada and Chip Baysore, all of Muncy; a daughter, Dara Oden, of Millville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Margey Baysore; a beloved son-in-law, Arroll Oden; and three siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Muncy Presbyterian Church, 10 E. Penn St., Muncy. Light refreshments will follow the service.
If friends so desire, memorial contributions in Nola’s name, may be made to the church.
