Nellie B. Young

Nellie B. Young, 94, of Montgomery, died Thursday, January 29, 2026, at her home with family by her side.

Born December 26, 1931, in New Albany, she was a daughter of the late LuVerne and Martha (Dike) Brown. On February 17, 1950, she married Jim L. Young, who predeceased her.

Nellie was a graduate of Montgomery High School and worked for many years at the former Montgomery Mills.

She was very fond of cats, and dearly loved her current kitty, Whiskers. Nellie also enjoyed sitting on the porch and bird watching.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Snyder and Mary McCormick; a sister-in-law, Shirley; three grandchildren, Christopher, Kim and Kyle; and five great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Taylor, Finn, Emma and Olivia.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Thomas Snyder; a granddaughter-in-law, Jodi Snyder; and numerous siblings.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
