Ned L. "Skip" Young, 96, most recently of State College and Lock Haven, died Friday, September 11, 2026 at Lock Haven Rehab and Senior Living Center.
Born August 31, 1930 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Abe and Eva (Kimble) Young. On July 2, 1971, he married the former Molly Kiess, who survives. Together they celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Skip was a graduate of South Williamsport High School. He worked as a dairy farmer his whole life, running the Youngsway Farms Dairy on Sylvan Dell Rd., South Williamsport.
Skip enjoyed hunting, antiquing and going to flea markets. He was fond of traveling and square dancing with his wife. Skip loved watching football and westerns on TV.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Ned Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Williamsport, Melinda Pitt and her husband, Jeff, of Okinawa, Japan, Mary Young, of State College and Jeff Young and his wife, Holly, of South Williamsport; four grandchildren, Mark Jolin and his wife, Shelly, Scott Jolin, Brett Pitt and Wade Young and his wife, Marcia; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Sherry Jolin; two brothers, Max and Dale Young; and two sisters, Jane Maltby and Betty Pavlich.
A private graveside service will be held in the Muncy Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
