Nancy L. Vermeulen, 89, of Montgomery, died on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Wolf Run Village, Hughesville.
Born March 16, 1937, in Elmira, NY, she was a daughter of the late Willis E. and Lena M. (Hopkins) King. On September 22, 1964, she married James Vermeulen, who predeceased her on August 13, 1996.
Nancy was a graduate of Montgomery High School. She last worked at Koppers, Montgomery, but also spent much of her life supporting and caring for her family.
Nancy formerly attended Maple Hill United Methodist Church.
She was an avid roller skater for much of her life and enjoyed bowling at the former Cloverleaf Lanes, Muncy. Nancy loved going for walks and was known to be a superb shot when playing Cornhole.
Surviving are three children, Terri Lambert, of Montgomery, Robert Clayton Jr., of Muncy, and Randy Vermeulen and his wife, Anna, of Montoursville; one brother, Willis “Bud” King and his wife, Shirley, of Lewisburg; 5 grandchildren, Kasi, Curtis, Kyle, Billy and Matt; 3 step grandchildren, Brett, Amber and Rachel; numerous great-grandchildren, and her good friend, John.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one son, Kevin Vermeulen; one daughter, Karen Bashista; three brothers, John, Wayne and Lester King; one sister, Sherma Hill; one grandson, Bobby; and a daughter-in-law, Sandy Clayton.
A Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21 at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Rt. 54, Montgomery, with Rev. James Ritter, officiating.
