Miriam B. “Mim” Naugle, 95, of Lewisburg, died December 24, 2025 at Wellspan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg after a life well lived.
Mim was born on May 29, 1930, in Lock Haven to the late Lewis Dove and Ruth (Rearick) Baker. On January 6, 1951, she married Robert Shoap Naugle, who preceded her in death March 12, 2001. They met when they attended Bucknell University at a Methodist youth fellowship function when Bob was helping to clean up the chairs. Mim said it was Bob’s eyes that first attracted her to him. After a number of years of marriage, Mim learned to golf so the two could enjoy weekends together. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before Bob died in 2001.
Throughout her life, Mim was devoted to and exceedingly proud of her family. She had 6 children and 10 grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. After her children had grown, Mim worked as a receptionist in a doctor’s office, was active as a volunteer for the American Red Cross blood drives and in the family surgical waiting rooms of Evangelical Hospital.
Mim was an active and faithful member of Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church and she looked forward to spending time with her church family, especially the small group that she attended on a monthly basis.
She loved travel and visited Europe, Japan. Costa Rica, and traveled all over the U.S. She was a prolific craftswoman and shared cross stitched and knitted creations with friends and family. She was an exceptional seamstress.
During her life Mim was active in chorale groups, garden club, bowling league, and lifelong learning with Bucknell adult education. She loved playing Mah Jongg, reading with her book club friends and, on a daily basis, playing a family game of Wordle.
She was an excellent cook, hosted many parties and looked forward to every family gathering. She leaves behind a treasure trove of family recipes!
As a family, we have been blessed to have had her with us all these years, yet it will always seem that she left too soon. She will be sincerely missed by her family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Mim's spirit lives on in acts of compassion and kindness, whenever anyone shares a casserole at a church dinner, sends a card of encouragement, offers a kind word, or strives to improve someone else’s life.
Mim will be missed by her children, Richard and wife, Connie Gartland Naugle, James and his wife, Jean Grasso Naugle, Thomas and his wife, Sherrie Miner Naugle, Linda and her husband, John Torola, and David and his wife, Melissa Whitt Naugle; 10 grandchildren, Kevin, Kristin, Tyler, Kate, Will, Joanna, Andrew, Rachel, Kendyl, Greyson; five great-grandchildren, Carter, Caleb, Rylee, Maya, Mason; one nephew, Eric Walther and his wife, Bonnie, their children Jason, Kathryn, Stephanie, and Sarah; and two nieces, Karen and Carla Walther.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Jeanette and brother-in-law, Jerry Walther.
Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Lewisburg Cemetery.
The family suggests contributions in Mim’s name be made to Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church, 42 S. Third St. Lewisburg, PA 17837 or online at https://www.beavermethodist.org/giving.html.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
