Margaret J. “Peg” Stamm, 77, formerly of Muncy, most recently of Watsontown, died Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.
Born July 11, 1943 in Chester, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Stella (Yanushefski) Strazdus. On August 5, 1961 she married Carl David Stamm, who preceded her in death on May 14, 1988. Together they celebrated 26 years of marriage.
Peg graduated from Chichester High School and worked many years as a cashier at Weis Markets, Danville, and the former All American Truck Plaza, now Flying J, Milton. She would later retire and happily care for her grandchildren as much as possible.
Peg was a member of Church of the Resurrection, Muncy.
She enjoyed playing bingo, travelling to casinos and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
She is survived by five children, Daniel Stamm and his fiancé, Jody Colfax, of Dallas, Cynthia Stump and her husband, Mike, of Muncy, Tracy Bower and her husband, Tim, of Trout Run, Bryan Stamm and his wife, Lindsay, of South Williamsport, and Mary Frey and her husband, Bob, of Watsontown; 17 grandchildren, Travis, Alan, David, Carolyn, Daniel Jr., Joshua, Nicole, Zac, Tara, Adrienne, Allyson, Jay, Noah, Julia, Nathan, Alec and Jessica; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Jacqueline Fisher; three brothers, David, Tony and Stephen Strazdus; and one sister, Helen Zebley.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17 at Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, with her pastor, the Rev. Glenn McCreary, officiating.
Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.
The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
