Lois S. Yoder

Lois S. Yoder, 95, a longtime resident of Watsontown, died Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

She was born March 28, 1930 in Watsontown, the daughter of the late Arthur H., Sr. and Ora B. (Johnston) Sherman. On February 20, 1949 she married Earl L. Yoder, who predeceased her September 20, 2020. Together they celebrated 71 years of marriage.

Lois was a 1948 graduate of Watsontown High School. She retired after 21 years as the Engineering Document Supervisor from the former Philco Ford/Zenith.

She was formerly a 75 year member of First Lutheran Church, Watsontown, and most recently a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church (Delaware Run), where she enjoyed volunteering her time.

Lois was a member of the Watsontown Guild and the McEwensville Garden Club.

She was an avid flower gardener and was known for making beautiful floral arrangements from her garden.

Surviving are two sons, William Yoder and his wife, Lynn, of Fayetteville, and Robert Yoder and his wife, Crystal, of Watsontown; three grandchildren, Kurt Yoder and his wife, Morgan, Jessica Bowersox and her husband, Clint, and Carissa Bowersox and her husband, Shane; and six great-grandchildren, Mason and Connor Bowersox, and Dustin Leroy and Cooper Anthony Yoder and Benjamin and Savannah Bowersox.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur Sherman, Jr. and H. Eugene DeWald.

Friends will be received from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 25 at Grenoble Funeral Home & Crematory, 308 Main Street, Watsontown, where a Memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. with Crystal Gutshall, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Watsontown Cemetery.
