Joseph R. Walker, 77, of Muncy, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, at his home.
Born July 18, 1947, in Wellsboro, he was a son of the late Joseph D. and Louise (Thompson) Walker. On December 1, 1992 he married the former Linda Dakin, who survives.
Joseph graduated from high school in Mansfield. He served honorably in the United States Navy Seabees, having earned a Purple Heart during his service in Vietnam. Following his time in the service, he worked as an Officer and later Chief in the Hughesville Police Department. During this time he also served as a constable, a tipstaff for Nancy Butt’s office, and helped teach several classes in Mansfield school district.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Heather, Holly, Brandy and Bryan; two sisters, Pamela and Amy; four grandchildren, Emma, Catie, Molly, Kirsten, Madison and Brooklyn; and one niece, Alex.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Allen.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
