Janice E. (Lupold) Oden, 92, of Muncy, died peacefully Sunday, January 11, 2026, at her home.

Born July 14, 1933, in Elimsport, she was a daughter of the late George H. and Wanda Mae (Voneida) Lupold. On December 11, 1951, she married Charles B. Oden. Together they celebrated 48 years of marriage before his death on September 8, 2000.

Janice attended the Muncy Schools. She worked at the former Montgomery Mills and GE Sylvania. In addition to caring for and raising her family, Janice enjoyed being a Muncy School District bus driver for over 32 years with Brelsford Transportation.

Janice was a fixture in the Muncy community. She was an 80-year member of the First United Methodist

Church, where she was known for her dedication to the Good and Plenty dinners and participation in the

Widow’s Mite and Keenagers groups. She was a 30 plus year Muncy High School Booster Club parent and volunteered for many years with Muncy Little League.

Janice enjoyed playing dominoes and attending breakfast with family and friends. An amazing homemaker, she was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and collecting recipes. A devoted fan of Muncy sports, especially wrestling, Janice also looked forward to watching the Little League World Series and women’s collegiate softball and basketball. She never missed fireworks, parades, and family gatherings at the “Shanty”. Family was of utmost importance, and she was always ready for a cookout or campfire. She enjoyed camping trips to Worlds End State Park and Canada.

Surviving are seven children, Charles B. (Deb) Oden, II, of Hughesville, Garry O. (Robin) Oden, Pearl Ivy (Allen) Sobczak, and Jay B Oden, all of Muncy, Tronya E. Boylan, of Wallingford, Ginya L. Yoder, of Catawissa and Layne R (Dolly) Oden, of Muncy; daughter-in-law, Dara B. Oden, of Muncy; brother, Sherman (Sandy) Lupold, of Bel Air, MD; brother-in-law, Richard Sieg, of Hughesville; three sisters-in-law, Lois Lupold, of Hughesville, Liz Lupold and Neva Myers, both of Muncy; 16 grandchildren, Scott, Christi, Stacey, Stephaney, Angela, Tiffany, Olivia, Levi, Sarah, Kelly, Emily, Erin, Ian, Grady, Rory and Clynt; and 15 great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Cory, Blake, Owen, Jordyn, Tyler, Cooper, Persephone, Aurora, Zoe, Henry, Ruby, Will, Charlotte and Liam.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Arroll L. Oden; two sons-in-law, William J. Boylan and Kevin L. Yoder; daughter-in-law, Barbara Kilgus; a special bonus daughter-in-law, Sue Gehr; three brothers, Gene, George and Rodger Lupold; and two sisters, Carrie Ann Sieg and Joyce Klusman.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Robinson, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Muncy Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Janice’s name be made to the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, PA 17756.
