Helen M. Barto

Helen M. Barto, 89, of Montgomery, died Friday, August 12, 2022 at her home.

Born November 17, 1932 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Lillian (James) Myers. On June 6, 1951 she married Richard Barto, who survives. Together they celebrated 71 years of marriage.

Helen was a 1951 graduate of Montgomery High School.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church, Montgomery, where she taught Sunday school classes for teenagers.

Helen was a dedicated mother and also a Den Mother for the cub scouts. She loved all aspects of farming, such as; caring for the cows and milking them; driving around the tractors and gardening.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons; Richard Jr. and Edna A. Barto, Donald Barto, and Bruce Barto, all of Montgomery; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Helen was predeceased by a brother, Harry Myers.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral service with be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. James Pentz, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Montgomery.
