Harry David Hovenstine

Harry D. Hovenstine, 62, of Williamsport, died Friday, September 11, 2026 at UPMC Harrisburg.

Born May 3, 1962 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Harry R. and Shirley (Henninger) Hovenstine. He married the former Mary Hitchings who survives. Together they celebrated many years of marriage.

Harry attended Loyalsock High School. He began working with his father at Hovey's Auto and Electric, Williamsport, eventually taking over the business and running the shop until recently, when he was suddenly stricken ill. Harry was dedicated to his shop, spending countless hours repairing vehicles and tinkering with equipment.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Harry Hovenstine II and his wife, Miranda, of Muncy; a daughter, Elizabeth Hovenstine, of Montoursville; a sister, Kathy Rooker and her husband, Joe, of South Williamsport; five grandchildren, Roxxi Vanperson, Brantley Craver, Gavin Hovenstine and Dylan Hovenstine and Hayden Griffin; and a niece, Rebecca Hovenstine, of Selinsgrove.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Sean Hovenstine and a sister, Vicki Allen.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
