George C. Lupold, 79, of Muncy, died Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born August 10, 1943 in Muncy, he was a son of the late George H. and Wanda Mae (Voneida) Lupold. On Oct. 21, 1977 he married the former Elizabeth “Liz” Duncan, who survives. Together they celebrated 44 years of marriage.
George was a 1962 graduate of Muncy High School. He served honorably with the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. George previously worked at J & L Wire Rope and Young’s Industries, Muncy. He received a degree in plumbing and heating from the former WACC, now Penn College. George worked at SCI, Muncy for 23 years, retiring in 2005.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Muncy. George was also a life member of the Muncy Area Volunteer Fire Company, the Roland Ritter American Legion Post 268, Muncy and the Edward J. Smith Post 3428 V.F.W., Muncy.
George enjoyed fishing, playing poker and earlier in life, hunting.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter and her fiancé, Cherie E. Murray and Kevin Entz, of Montoursville; a son and daughter-in-law, Todd C. and Lisa Lupold, of Camp Hill; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rodger and Lois Lupold, of Hughesville and Sherman and Sandy Lupold, of Bel Air, MD; a sister, Janice Oden, of Muncy; three grandsons, Benjamin Simcox, Evan Lupold and Owen Lupold; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Gene Lupold; and two sisters, Carrie Ann Sieg and Joyce Klusman.
Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will held at 10 a.m. Saturday, with his pastor, the Rev. Richard Robinson, officiating.
Procession will follow to the Muncy American Legion Post 268, 515 Legion Rd., Pennsdale, where full military honors will be accorded and a light luncheon will be provided.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Muncy Area Volunteer Fire Company, 35 S. Main St., Muncy, PA 17756.
