Gardner M. Stoker III, 86, of Mifflinburg, died Sunday, June 14, 2026 at home.

Born January 1, 1940, in Johnstown, he was a son of the late Gardner M. Stoker I and Helen (Zakrzewski) Stoker. On July 13, 1963, he married the former Mary Jo Westover, who preceded him in death October 19, 2003. Together they celebrated 40 years of marriage.

Gardner was a 1958 graduate of Beaverdale - Wilmore High School. Following high school, he served honorably in the United States Navy. Gardner worked as a lineman for AT&T for 37 ½ years before retiring in 1999.

He was a lifetime member of the Buffalo Valley Sportsman’s Club.

Gardner loved training hunting dogs, specifically bird dogs and competed with them in many field trials throughout the years. He also enjoyed hunting and country line dancing.

Surviving are his children, Marty J. Stoker and his wife, Terry, of Williamsport; two daughters, Amy E. McGlaughlin and her husband, Ryan, of Selinsgrove and Mary Beth Shively, of Aaronsburg; four sisters, Martha Kirkpatrick, Sarah Wieczorek, Helen Gallaher and her husband, Wayne and Helen Louise Trimpe; one sister-in-law, Patricia Stoker and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two sons, William J. Stoker and Matthew Stoker and a daughter, Cheryl Ann Stoker.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
