Franklin P. Beatty III, 86, most recently of Hughesville, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Muncy Place.
Born February 12, 1939 in Danville, he was the son of the late Franklin Jr. and Pauline (Deaner) Beatty. On December 23, 2014 he married the former Arlene Bulla, who survives.
Frank was a 1957 graduate of Milton High School. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Susquehanna University in 1961. Frank then joined the United States Army in 1962, serving honorably until 1968. He later earned his Master of Education from Penn State University in 1980.
Frank worked for 28 years as an associate professor at Penn College of Technology, where he retired.
In his early years, he was a scout leader and helped blaze 35 miles of the Mid State hiking trail between Camp Karoondinha and Seven Miles Camp. Frank was an avid fisherman and hunter, formerly belonging to the Muncy Creek Sportsmen. In his free time, he enjoyed yard work, kayaking and Penn State Football.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Mark Beatty, of Harrisburg, Holly Lehman, of Carlisle, and Kelly Holland of Chambersburg; and four grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St. Muncy where a memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Steve Shirk, officiating.
