Faye E. Kleppinger, 97, of Lewisburg went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.
She was born December 8, 1926, in Milton, a daughter of the late Peter Lester and Elizabeth Gertrude (Feeney) Wilver, and later moved to the family farm in New Columbia. On January 18, 1979, she married Donald Kleppinger who preceded her in death on April 29, 1989. Together they celebrated 10 years of marriage.
Faye was a 1944 graduate of Milton High School. During her marriage to Roger A. Houseknecht who was in the Navy affording the family to travel to many places, she brought Boy Scouts of America to Ponce Puerto Rico and was a proud Den Mother. She also worked various retail jobs throughout her working career.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Lewisburg, where she was part of the Ladies Renewal group.
She was always helping others, from picking up her children’s friends when they were young so everyone could play together and have fun, to helping local seniors with everyday tasks, such as going to the grocery store or church.
Most importantly, Faye loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and King Houseknecht, of HI; daughter-in-law, Sharon Houseknecht Rein, of Lewisburg; brother, Donald Wilver, of New Columbia; sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Dale Shannon, of Lewisburg; two grandchildren, Theresa Hales and her husband, Eric and Russell Houseknecht II; six great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Mackenzie, Adrian, Chloe, Alyson and Russell III; one great-great-grandson, Blayzen and one on the way, Atreus and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Russell Houseknecht; four brothers, Richard, James, William and Alfred Wilver and one sister, Helen Mae Kissel.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1 at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery.
