Emma "Emmie C." DeWald

Emma “Emmie C.” DeWald, 86, of Muncy, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Edenbrook South, Williamsport.

Born June 25, 1939 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Martin “Red” and Emma Catherine (McCabe) Malloy. On Oct. 14, 1960 she married Thomas E. DeWald, who survives. Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Emmie was a 1958 graduate of Muncy High School. She worked at the former Dow’s Pharmacy, Muncy, for 30 years. For the next 10 years, Emmie ran a licensed family daycare in her home to a group of wonderful children.

She was a very active member of the Muncy Presbyterian Church, where she served as deacon and helped with various committees. Emmie was also a member of the Muncy Women’s Club, Muncy Garden Club and TOPS.

Emmie enjoyed reading, daily walks and spending time with her friends and family. She loved her dogs and treated them like part of the family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sisters, Isabel and Art Deuel, of Williamsport and Dolores Parsons, of Muncy; a sister-in-law, Marilynn Malloy, of Williamsport; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a two brothers, William Malloy and Martin A. Malloy, in infancy.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025 in the Muncy Cemetery, 204 East Penn St., Muncy.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Emmie’s name be made to the deacon fund at the Muncy Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 276, Muncy, PA 17756.
