Doris M. Winter, 85, of Watsontown, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born October 7, 1934 in Milton, a daughter of the late Earl and Grace (Shuman) Mathias. On August 27, 1955 she married Richard Winter, who survives. Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage.
Doris was a 1953 graduate of Milton High School. She worked at the former Chef Boyardee, now ConAgra, Milton, and later retired from Lewisburg Home Health.
Doris was a member of Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Milton.
She enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, loved spending time with her children and family.
Surviving in addition to her husband are one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Jill Winter, of Carlisle; one daughter and son-in-law, Grace and William Cawley, of New Columbia; one grandson, Clinton Cawley; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one son, Theron Winter III; two grandsons, Michael and Stephen Winter; and two sisters, June Geiswhite and Emily McCormick.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 17 in the Chapel at Twin Hills Memorial Park, 3332 Lycoming Mall Drive, Montoursville, with her pastor, the Rev. Mark Messner, officiating.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest contributions be made to Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 102 Lower Market Street Milton, PA 17847.
