Doris I. Niklaus, 94, of Muncy, died Saturday, May 3, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born May 4, 1930 in Montoursville, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Margaret (Harris) Karschner. She married Frederick S. Niklaus, Jr. and together they celebrated 45 years of marriage before his death June 18, 1996.
Doris attended Montoursville schools. She met her husband, Fred, while working at C.A. Reed, Williamsport. After marriage, Doris spent her days raising and caring for her family. She enjoyed planting flowers and working in her yard. She was also fond of crocheting, wood working, making crafts, baking and doing jigsaw puzzles.
She was a member of Fairfield United Methodist Church, Montoursville.
Surviving are four children, Ronald Eugene Niklaus, of Muncy, Cheryl (Tom) Ault and Sandra Niklaus (Ronald) Eck, all of Montoursville and Nancy (Ronnie) Michael, of Muncy Valley; five siblings, Gertrude Hunter, of Montoursville, Elsie Eck, of Williamsport, Donald (Esther) Karschner, Glen (Mabel) Karschner and Verna (Dave) Horn, all of Montoursville; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son Frederick J. Niklaus; two brothers, Robert and Calvin Karschner; and a sister, Esther Miller.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Lycoming Mall Drive, Muncy, with Pastor Michael Hill, officiating.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Susquehanna Health Foundation, c/o Home Care & Hospice, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
