Dora Mae Smith, 90, of Montgomery, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025 at UPMC Muncy.

Born September 2, 1935 in Bloomsburg, she was a daughter of the late Paul H. and Margaret B. Morrison (Shultz).

She attended Hughesville High School, leaving early to marry her love, Donald M. Smith, Sr. on March 29th, 1952. Dora spent her days raising and caring for her family as well as assisting as the office manager in her husband’s business, Smith's Garage & Auto Parts of Montgomery.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Montgomery, where she participated in the women’s mission ministry.

Dora spent countless hours gardening, paying special attention to her flowers. She enjoyed watching the wild life that visited her yard, especially the birds. Dora also loved giving to non profits throughout the world.

Surviving are sons, Daniel M. Sr. (Cindy) Smith, of Montgomery and Douglas M. (Patti Phillips) Smith, of Muncy; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Smith, of Goodyear, Arizona; grandsons, Daniel Jr. (Sherry) Smith, of Allenwood and Corey (Amanda) Smith, of Williamsport; granddaughter, Stephanie (William) Cameron, of Watsontown; brother, Larry (Linda) Shultz, of Allenwood; sister, Donna (Bill) Hampton, of Montgomery; and three great-granddaughters, Arlie Smith, Emily (Hayden) Beiter and Sydney Smith.

In addition to her parents and husband of 67 years, she was predeceased by a son, Donald M. Smith, Jr., of Goodyear, Arizona; sisters, Joanne Fischer, Louise Yocum, and Esther Bogart; and brothers, Walter Shultz, Sr., and Paul Shultz, Jr.

Friends and family may join us for a memorial service on Sunday, September 28th at 2 o’clock, at the First United Methodist Church, Montgomery.

To carry on Dora’s selfless and charitable legacy, her family has donated her pacemaker to help save the life of a person in need, in a poverty stricken country.

The family suggests memorial contributions in Dora's name be made to First United Methodist Church, 41 W. Houston Ave., Montgomery, PA 17752.
