Donald E. Miller, 90, of Hugheville, and a longtime resident of Muncy, known affectionately as “Boney”, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Born November 24, 1934, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Bruce Dewey “Duke” and Ruth (Gortner) Miller. Donald married the love of his life, Ann (Buhl) Miller, on October 25, 1957. They shared a devoted 61 years of marriage together until her passing.

He dedicated seven years as the head custodian at Muncy High School before beginning a 25-year career as the Maintenance Superintendent for the State Correctional Institution at Muncy until his retirement.

Donald's greatest passions in life were raising his family, which brought him immense joy, as well as tending his garden, exercising, hunting, and generously volunteering his time at the Son Light House in Muncy. He was also quite fond of his beloved canine companion, Scamp.

A man of deep faith, Donald was a longtime member of the Muncy Baptist Church. He was also an active member of several community organizations, including the Muncy Volunteer Fire Department, Edward J Smith Post 3428 V.F.W., Roland Ritter American Legion Post 268, Camp Sand Spring hunting camp, Muncy Valley Moose and the Loyalsock Men’s Club.

Donald will be dearly missed by his family. Surviving are four children, Roxann (Robert) Kolbrich, of Hughesville, Michael (Erin) Miller, of Livermore, CO, James Miller, of Cathedral City, CA, and Shonny (Mark) Shultz, of Bloomsburg; two sisters, Beverly Smith, of Hughesville and Carol (Keith) Wilkins, of York; eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Miller, a brother, Bruce Miller, and four sisters, Elma Phillips, Betty Hill, Ruth Kemmer, and Margaret Campbell.

Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, November 24 at Muncy Baptist Church, 11 W. Penn St., Muncy, where a funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Robert W. Rice, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Donald P. Edwards.

Burial with full military honors will follow in the Muncy Cemetery.
