Dale Edward Michael

Dale E. "Ed" Michael, 89, formerly of Oval, died on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Muncy Place.

Born March 1, 1937, in Muncy, he was a son of the late Charles William Sr. and Anne (Bigger) Michael. On July 30, 1981, he married the former Joyce L. Davis who preceded him in death on November 24, 2019.

Ed attended Muncy High School and was drafted into the United States Air Force, where he served honorably from 1956 to 1959. Following his time in the service, he worked as a mail carrier for the Muncy Post Office where he got the nickname "Fast Eddie".

Ed was a member of the Oval United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed woodworking and watching the New York Yankees. Ed also had a love for dogs, including his grand pups, Riley, Journey and Lola.

Surviving are three children, Frank Michael and his wife Ila, of Muncy, Dale Michael, of Pennsdale and Karen Michael and her partner Julie Miller, of Alabama; three stepchildren, Richard Nearhoof and his wife, Candy, James Nearhoof and his wife, Liz, and William "BJ" Nearhoof and his wife, Townya; four grandchildren, Nichole Frye, Daniela Michael, Joe Michael and Joshua Michael; two great-grandchildren, Max and Brock Frye; and numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by three siblings, Catharine Gordner, Roberta Mincemoyer and Charles William Michael Jr.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
