Conrad David Shull

Conrad D. Shull, 71, of Laporte, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, surrounded by love at The Gatehouse in Williamsport.

Born on November 18, 1954, in Kansas City, Kansas, Conrad was the first born son of the late Orvis "Jim" M. and Collette (Wach) Shull. His journey was defined by curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong devotion to the arts. He is survived by his wife, Laurie (Rhone) Shull . Together, they shared seven wonderful years filled with laughter, partnership, and joy.

A 1972 graduate of Muncy High School, Conrad continued his education at California State University of Pennsylvania. He brought a rare blend of technical ingenuity and dedication to his career as a web designer and IT specialist at UPMC Susquehanna for most of his life, later concluding his professional journey with Publishers Service Associates in Williamsport.

Conrad's life was a vibrant symphony of artistic passion and community connection. While in high school, Conrad was a founding member of the International Crab Society. As a longtime fixture of the local theater scene, he brought story and spirit to the stage through his years performing with the Williamsport's Community Theater League. The stage was one of his truest homes, where his flair for storytelling and deep appreciation for drama shone brightly.

That same creative precision bridged his technical mastery into musical artistry-whether collecting and playing guitars, meticulously hand-building steel guitars, or restoring vintage electronic organs to capture the soulful warmth of 1960s tone. His hands were rarely still; he took immense joy in engineering custom amplifiers and breathing new life into old speakers, ensuring his home was always filled with music of all genres.

A member of the Church of the Resurrection in Muncy, he also shared great camaraderie as a member of the American Legion Post 601 in Sonestown.

Conrad's vibrant spirit lives on through his cherished family. In addition to his devoted wife, Laurie, he is survived by his beloved daughter, Cydne Shull; his cherished granddaughter, Asta Jackson; and his six siblings: Mark K. (Rebecca Ward) Shull, Dr. Peter J. (Kathleen Yurchak) Shull, Timothy J. Shull, Marycollette (Kent) Muirhead, Dr. (COL) Colleen C. (Dr. Mitchel Krieger) Shull, and Patrick O. (Kathy Burke) Shull; as well as his sister-in-law, Marilyn Shull; his five nephews, Nicholas, Thomas (Samantha Genevay), Gabriel, Daniel, and John Patrick Shull; and his niece, Catherine Shull.

A celebration of Conrad's life will begin with a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, September 21, at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, Pennsylvania. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m., with his burial at Muncy Cemetery.
