Charlotte Jean McClintock

Charlotte Jean McClintock, 78, of Watsontown, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born January 9, 1948, in Dinuba, CA, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Eileen (Cole) Freeman. On January 1, 1966, she married Russell McClintock, who survives. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Charlotte graduated high school in Wisconsin. She worked various jobs in and around Watsontown but spent much of her life raising and caring for her family.

Charlotte was a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, Watsontown, where she sang in the choir.

She is known locally as being the first female firefighter for the former West Branch Fire Company, now Warrior Run Area Fire Department. Charlotte also spent many years running the ambulance service and assisting with EMT. She was recently recognized in Watsontown’s “Prominent Women through the Years” presentation.

Charlotte was a Girl Scout leader and coached midget cheerleading while her daughters were involved. She was also an avid sewer and enjoyed making items for family and friends.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Jennifer Ann Stahlnecker, of Carlisle and Rebecca Mae McClintock, of Colorado; three grandchildren, Josh, Jerod and Jacob (Kate) Mertz; and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Bennett Russell Mertz.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Roberta Guy.

Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20 at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 10275 PA Route 44, Watsontown, where a Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Donald L. Snyder Jr. officiating.
