Charles J Persun

Charles J. “Charlie” Persun, 90, of Muncy, died Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.

Born September 20, 1931 in Montgomery, he was a son of the late Reuben S. and Pauline B. (Hessler) Persun . On August 20, 1960 he married the former Janet Laurenson, who survives. Together they celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Charlie was a 1949 graduate of Muncy High School. He retired from the former A&P  Tea Co, Hughesville in 1988.

He was an avid bowler, bowling multiple nights a week. Charlie also enjoyed hunting and camping.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Rick Persun and his wife, Elizabeth, of Pennsdale; two daughters, Robin Persun and her fiancé, Kevin Cleary, of CA and Debra Barney and her husband, Paul, of Florida; a sister, Eileen Rhian and her husband, Dick, of Watsontown; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the Webster Cemetery, Huntersville.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St. Muncy.
