Carole Jean Bower, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed on July 12, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on September 8, 1941, to Adam and Martha Jean (Krick) Yocum, Carole grew up in Milton, Pennsylvania and graduated from Milton High School with the class of 1959. On October 8,1965, she married the love of her life, Reverend Stanley Bower, beginning a union grounded in faith and service.
Carole dedicated her life to nurturing her family and helping others. She played roles in the administration of both Mountain Grove Lutheran and Canby Lutheran churches, faithfully supporting her husband in his pastoral ministry. A committed member of the Rotary Club, Carole was known for her contributions to community initiatives, always offering kindness, generosity and a welcoming spirit.
She is survived by her son Stanley Bower Jr. and his wife Heidi, as well as her two cherished grandsons, Evan and Noah. Carole is also survived by three siblings, Nancy Shearer and her husband, Satch, Hilda Kay Morgan and her husband, Tom, and Adam Yocum II and his wife, Patti, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely and in the lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, on June 25th, 2025, thus breaking a marital union of nearly 60 years.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 17 at Canby Lutheran Church, 529 Millertown Road, Bloomsburg. Friends will be received following the service in the downstairs of the Church for a time of visitation and fellowship.
Private burial will be held in Muncy Cemetery.
