Blanche M. Sechrist

Blanche M. “Dolly” (Leavy) Sechrist, 92, of Montoursville, passed away peacefully Friday, September 26, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born July 8, 1933 in Montoursville, she was one of 13 children born to the late Samuel and Elva (Hall) Leavy. In 1950 she married Ronald Sechrist, who died in 1960, as a result of injuries sustained during the War.

Dolly enjoyed being a mother, caring and raising her family all while working full time at Carey-McFalls, Montoursville for over 40 years.

She was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God, Montoursville.

In recent years, Dolly enjoyed watching religious programs on TV and loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are two sons, Vaughn Sechrist and his wife, Mitzi and Wayne Sechrist, all of Montoursville; a daughter, Wanda Ketchum and her partner, Ron Hall, of Muncy; two sisters, Maxine Stahl, of Muncy and Arlene Jarrell, of Montoursville; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by six brothers and four sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2025 at St. John Lutheran (White Church) Cemetery, 1679 Lycoming Mall Rd., Muncy, with Pastor Stephen Fulkes, officiating.
