Benjamin F. THomas III

Benjamin Franklin "Ben" Thomas III, 92, of Lewisburg passed into eternal life peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

Born September 10, 1934, in Lewisburg, he was a son of the late Benjamin F. II and Francis (Wagner) Thomas. He married the former Marian Sypher, who survives. Together they celebrated 68 years of marriage.

Ben graduated from Mifflinburg High School and served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He later retired working over 40 years for the former Pennsylvania House Furniture. In his retirement years, he worked part time for the now Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, formerly Gary H. Cronrath Funeral Home.

Ben was a member of Christ's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, where he was very active for many years.

He was member of the Mifflinburg Lodge #370, Free and Accepted Masons, and Shriners International. Ben volunteered many days transporting youth to Shriners Children's hospital in Philadelphia.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Narrows Rod & Gun Club. His greatest joy was spending time with Family and going on hunting and fishing trips with his three sons.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Jeffrey Thomas and his significant other, Carolyn Briwa, of Panama City, FL, Gregory Thomas and his wife, Barbara, of Oak Ridge, NC, and Mike Thomas and his wife, Lynette, of Camden, NC; one sister, Polly Barnes, of Hughesville; two brothers, Danny Thomas and his wife, Diana, of Hughesville and Jim Thomas and his wife, Lois, of Montoursville; six grandchildren, Mara Thomas, Jenna Howells and her husband, Justin, Trevor Thomas and his wife, Morgan, Hailey Thomas, Michael Thomas Jr. and Kylee Sawyer; two great-grandchildren, Jaxon Howells and Jillian Thomas, and one great-grandson due in the coming days, Daniel.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Peg Stockdale.
