Barbara J. Ott

Barbara J. Ott, 94, of 3 N Chestnut Place, Lewisburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village.

She was born April 4, 1925 in Franklin, a daughter of the late Clyde D. and Ruth (McKenzie) Hellyer. She and her husband, the Rev. Robert E. Ott, celebrated 62 years of marriage before his death May 1, 2010.

Barbara was a graduate of Sandy Lake High School. She previously worked at the former Zipper factory in Meadville, as a piano teacher, in the print shop at the Valley Forge Christian College and as a caretaker at the Landisville Campground.

Barbara was a member of the Mifflinburg Assembly of God Church.

She was an active resident at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, acting as the representative of her cul de sac and the nursing home organist. Barbara enjoyed playing WI bowling, computer games and crocheting with the Knit Wits.

Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Ruth C. and Rev. Robert A. Jones, Jr. of Sunbury and Rebecca Crotzer, of Douglassville; a sister, Darryll Keener, of Ephrata; three grandsons, Frank McClintock, Troy Ballew and Robert A. III (Barbara) Jones; three great-grandchildren, Kyra McClintock, Elizabeth Jones and Xander Jones; one great-great-grandson, Noah Xavier Lytle; and a niece, Martha Lou Green and her family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Martha Strausser and Beatrice Hawbaker.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Mifflinburg Assembly of God, 1001 Market Street, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Johnny Blake.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests, contributions in Barbara’s memory may be made to either the Gideon’s International, P. O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090, or the Mifflinburg Assembly of God, 1001 Market Street, Mifflinburg, PA 17844 or to the Stonington Wesleyan Church, Rt. 61, Stonington, PA 17801.
