Anne Marie “Nancy” Tufo, 73, of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born January 1, 1952, in Abington, Pennsylvania, Nancy was a daughter of the late Paul J. and Mary Ellen (Robinson) Heiser. On May 5, 1973, Nancy married Joseph “John” Tufo who predeceased her on March 28, 2004.
Nancy was a graduate of Upper Moreland High School. Nancy attended Cosmetology School and completed some undergraduate college courses. Nancy began working at a young age through high school. Nancy’s career had a few different occupations, and she spent her last working years as a Logistics Coordinator for ConAgra, in Milton, before retiring early to do consulting work, as well as caring for children.
Nancy loved animals and volunteered with Cherish Cats Rescue Alliance where she would help bottle feed kittens in need. She also was a foster home for dogs through Haven to Home. Beyond animals, Nancy’s nurturing spirit also allowed her to foster many children in her home through the years.
In her retirement, Nancy enjoyed gardening, reading, caring for and playing with her two dogs, cooking, and collecting food to donate to food banks. Prior to her husband’s death, they enjoyed traveling with friends and family, motorcycle rides and golfing. Both John and Nancy loved horses and spent several years owning and riding horses with their daughters. They enjoyed being horse show parents for both daughters who competed in their teenage years.
Nancy was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Anne Marie (Chris McElyea) Tufo, of Bellefonte, and Andrea Tufo, of Lewisburg; one brother, Thomas (Joanne Polulak) Heiser, of Lancaster; one sister, Debbie (Steve) Parke, of Hatboro; one brother-in-law, Edward (Susie) Tufo, of Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister-in-law, Jo Ann Tufo, of Myrtle Beach, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy also leaves behind her two (2) beloved golden retrievers and her three (3) cats.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Bridget Elizabeth Tufo; one sister-in-law, Linda Heiser; and one brother-in-law, Mike Tufo.
