Annabelle Rae Gottschall

Annabelle Rae Gottschall, 89, of Muncy, died peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Muncy Place.

Born June 6, 1936 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Charles J. and Lulu Mae (Eagleberger) Brooke. On Jan. 30, 1953 she married Leroy E. Gottshcall and together they celebrated 64 years of marriage before his death on October 20, 2017.

Annabelle attended Muncy schools. Earlier in life, she worked at the former Montgomery Mills and later served as a caregiver for many years, helping many local families.

She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Muncy.

Annabelle enjoyed watching baseball, football and wrestling. She loved her family, always putting them first and was fond of the companionship of her dogs.

Surviving are three children and their spouses, Karen and Alvin Weaver, of Turbotville, Charles and Bonnie Gottschall, of Muncy and David and Cindy Gottschall, of Clyde, TX; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Walter “Buss” Brooke, Claude John Brooke, and Leroy “Bert” Brooke; and five sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Meyer, Mary Lou Edwards, Katherine “Katie” Laylon, Bernadine Higgins and Beatrice “Tiny” Crouse.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
