Alvin Fisher Jr., 86, formerly of Milton and Dewart, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017, at his home in Florida.
He was born November 25, 1931, in Milton, a son of the late Alvin and Eliza (Bieber) Fisher. On November 27, 2010, he married Barbara Stewart, who survives.
Alvin was a 1949 graduate of Milton High School. He worked for many years as a saw operator at ACF Industries, Milton.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
Alvin was best known for being a race car driver and loved his Ford flatheads and sprint cars. He raced on all the area tracks, one year winning a local championship.
He was a member of the Crack Jack Collectors Association and the Williams Grove Old Timers.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Tammy Fisher, of Winfield; five stepchildren, Alan Stewart, of Okarche, OK, Paul Stewart, of New Columbia, Diane Dom, of Hagerstown, MD, Donna Stewart, of Fairfax, VA, and Susan Krieger, of Sunbury; one son-in-law, Don Wood, of Cicero, NY; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one daughter, Linda Wood; and one brother, Lee Fisher.
Friends will be received from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where the funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. with Rev. James R. Pentz of New Covenant Assembly, Montgomery, officiating.
Burial will be held privately in the Turbotville Cemetery.
