Janet P. Confer

Janet P. Confer, 96, of Muncy died Monday, February 5, 2024, at her home.

Born January 27, 1928, in Muncy, she was a daughter of Harry and Laura (Michael) Dugan.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 75 years, Ray F. Confer on July 24, 2021.

Janet was a graduate of Muncy High School and Pennsylvania College of Technology She worked as a Dietetic Technician at The Methodist Home (Riverview), Lewisburg. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker; often expressing her love for family and others through excellence in cooking, gardening, sewing, and quilting.

Janet was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Clarkstown; Cheerful Chums Sunday School Class, Susquehanna Quilt Guild, Messiah Quilters, Beta Sigma Phi sorority and “ladies” card clubs. Janet and Ray volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years.

Surviving are a son, Leslie Confer (Patricia), of Maple Glen, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Confer (Michael), of Woodstock, MD, daughter, Eva Breneisen, of Muncy; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and sister, Frances (Dean) Spring.

In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by her son, Michael Confer, three brothers, Milford, Alan “Cork” and Byron Dugan and two sisters, Mary Funk and Helen Marsh.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2041 PA-442 Clarkstown, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with her minister, Jim Girven, officiating.

Burial will follow at the Muncy Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Janet’s name be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 2041 PA-442, Muncy, PA 17756.
